A Target Sprint competition took place on Thursday 11th July evening and was part of the Inter Services Cadet Rifle Meeting (ISCRM) held at Bisley. The event was a great success with 52 Cadets, male and female from all corners of the country, giving the sport a go for the first time.
Cadets representing 14 different Units came together on Thursday evening to enjoy the exhilarating fun sport for all.
Paul Langford, Event Coordinator said; “The noise was fantastic from the supporters and team-mates. I thought the roof was going to lift in the 50m range at the Lord Robert Centre!”
“The Cadets who took part were encouraged to return a few days later to the same venue for the Schools Target Sprint, which was a National Series qualifier. It was great to see those who returned all qualified for the National Series Final in September.”
British Shooting would like to congratulate the Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting and Paul Langford for organising the event and are delighted to hear that this looks to be an event on the 2020 Target Sprint event calendar!
The Cadet audience is a huge talent pool of potential athletes to our sport, where we may also find our next GB athlete stars of the future.
