The severe weather conditions may have hindered the first GB Selection event of 2018, but thanks to the team at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex and our incredible team of volunteers, the event was rescheduled six days later and a platform was provided for some brilliant performances.
Saturday’s GB Ranking event saw fantastic individual performances and demonstrated the improvement that Target Sprint in Great Britain is making as it edges ever closer to achieving British Shooting’s vision of becoming a world leading nation in the event.
Martin Beard, Head GB Target Sprint Coach said: “The outstanding performance of the day came from Arno Turner, an up-and-coming junior athlete who recorded a time of 5;17mins. Arno took up the sport just two months ago from swimming and is thoroughly enjoying Target Sprint and therefore putting every effort in to taking the nation and world by storm.
Despite the ladies all feeling rather under the weather with sickness and flu, it was very impressive to see them all digging deep, keeping their goals of GB Selection alive.”
Entry open: For those wishing to compete again and for all athletes who wish to be selected for the 2018 GB Squad and Team, entries are still open for GB Selection Qualification 2 held on Saturday 7th April at Southampton Athletics track. Enter here.
