We are delighted to announce the extended appointment of Martin Beard as the Great Britain Head Target Sprint Coach until March 2021. He is joined by Mark Lodge, Stephen Batchelor and John Saint as Great Britain Selectors for the 2018-19 Target Sprint season.
Martin has been an integral part of the team at British Shooting, helping us to develop the sport not only domestically but on the international scene. His passion and dedication has enabled Target Sprint in the UK to support the International Shooting Sport Federation and their efforts to roll this exciting, exhilarating sport for all around the world.
Martin was delighted when his appointment was confirmed and is excited for what he can achieve with a talented pool of Target Sprinters. He said: “I’m honoured to be leading the GB Squad and Teams over the next 3 years. The increased levels of performance have been incredible over the past 12months, which bodes well for an exciting 2018 and future prospects beyond that.”
Mark Lodge, GB Squad Sprint Coach, will once again bring to the selection table his wealth of athletic knowledge and insight into the sport as he continues to work closely with the GB Squad and Regional Centre activity at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex with Sedgemoor Training.
Stephen Batchelor, current TS Educator and leader of Target Sprint in the Scout movement nationally as well as open environment, is a great asset to the team. He is welcomed as GB Target Sprint encourages the community to build, helping the sport to nurture talent and produce elite performers. Stephen and his team at 21st Romsey Scouts are also hosting one of our 2018 GB Selection competitions on Sat 7th April. (Click here to enter).

John Saint has too been a key player to Great Britain’s success in Target Sprint to date, coaching the team who competed at the World Championships in Suhl 2017 as well as the current GB Squad.
Gorgs Geikie, British Shooting Events & Commercial Coordinator, said: “We at British Shooting strive to achieve world-leading performances, supported by a world-leading team engaging the community to join our journey and share our success, which is why we are so proud of Target Sprint in Great Britain.”
