The squad is designed to support and nurture talent on and off the field of play.
This six-month rolling Squad for Juniors and Seniors will be supported with two British Shooting co-ordinated training weekends every six months – each of which are individually themed with a session to support athletes, parents and coaches delivered/supported by the British Shooting support staff. Other benefits can be found on the Target Sprint website.
The squad will consist of a maximum 24 Target Sprint athletes. (max. 6 x Junior Women, max. 6 x Junior Men, max. 6 x Senor Men, max. 6 x Senior Women).
HOW DOES SELECTION WORK?
Annually in the Autumn and Spring there will be open opportunity for any athlete to gain a place. The next selection will be on Talent ID Days on 7th / 8th October. Those interested can find out more information and enter on the Target Sprint website. Please note, at the time of each reselection, the top athletes (4) in their age/gender category (Junior/Senior) from the previous selection cycle are automatically part of the next six months GB Squad.
In this interim period between now and the October Talent ID weekend, we invite our GB athletes who were selected to represent GB at the Target Sprint World Champs 2017 and the non-travelling reserves to make up our first GB Target Sprint Squad.
Congratulations to the GB Junior Men squad, Sam Hopson, Jack Jeffreys, Kieran Gall and Josh Snook. And the GB Junior Women squad, Victoria Bradbury, Emily Shawyer, Charlotte Huddart and Araminta Stubbs.
(Sam and Victoria were top of the Spring 2017 selection results, so are automatically eligible to be part of the GB Squad October 2017-April 2018).
