“The North West Regional Centre has developed in leaps and bounds recently,” says Doug Pepper who leads the Regional Centre.
Doug went on to say; “This year we’re focusing on expanding the North West Championships and making it a real landmark in the event calendar in our region.
“The North West Championships is going to be more than simply hosting National Series and Super League races but creating it into a resource for instructors and coaches to use to engage a growth in grassroots activity with local athletes.
“Our recent affiliation with Tameside Sports Network is part of our growth and development programme. Tameside Sports Network gets support from local metropolitan councils to focus on providing sporting opportunities to inactive young people and adults here in the North West. We’re thrilled now that Target Sprint and target sports are part of the repertoire of opportunities available.
“We are also using the event to nurture and develop our Target Sprint Leaders. We are giving them the opportunity to work on delivering our North West Championships with support and mentoring. We’re sharing the knowledge and experience across our Target Sprint Leader community here in the region to increase our capacity to run Target Sprint events and activities across the north in the future.
“We’re thrilled to be developing target sprint in the northern region and look forward to our southern friends visiting.”
