The Dutch Open Target Sprint, held in sunny Arnham on Saturday 30th June 2018, was another great opportunity to athletes from Great Britain to test their performances against an international field.
Martin Beard, Head GB Coach said: “With last minute organisational changes, the event wasn’t run to full ISSF rules, but was a excellent level platform for all athletes competing to gain invaluable race-experience.
“We took from the event some real positive outcomes, with particular reference to the 10 personal we attained and the others which were only a few seconds away. Also, the outstanding professional team spirit and support which flowed through the whole team.
“This event was a milestone in our preparations for the World Championships in Korea in September. It’s now a case of consolidating our learnings as a team from the past few international competitions and look ahead to reaching Finals in Korea.
Target Sprint, the “Sport For All” was truly that in Arnham at the weekend. All the athletes competed for a time and placing. Following this the top 10 seniors and top 10 juniors competed head to head in a Junior and Senior Final. A battle a pride and performance as males and females all raced against each other!
No medals were presented at the Dutch Open, but the results speak for themselves as we at British Shooting pursue our vision of becoming a world leading shooting nation in Target Sprint.
