We’re excited to announce that British Shooting will be hosting the ISSF Target Sprint World Tour 2018: British Open as part of the Target Sprint GB Festival 2018.
2018 sees the launch of the ISSF Target Sprint Word Tour, which includes the Dutch Open, German Open and British Open.
British Shooting’s Gorgs Geikie, Chairman of the Organising Committee said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this international event and supporting the ISSF in their vision for the sport. The Would Tour is in it’s infancy, so it’s great to be involved as a nation from the outset.”
The ISSF Target Sprint World Tour 2018: British Open will be included alongside the National Series Final, all held at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex in October. It will be open to nations from across the world to enter in the Singles, teams and mixed pairs events for men, women, junior men and junior women. Like the other World Tour events and World Championships, the Great Britain Team will be selected from the current GB Squad. We encourage and invite spectators to watch the exhilarating competition unfold and witness nations anthems being played and flags raised.
The preliminary programme allows time for a new competition to be included, the Great Britain Championships. This open to anyone in Great Britain to enter, as well as international athletes of which the categories will be women, men, junior men and junior women. The competition will be run to ISSF rules and therefore using the 35mm size targets. Medals will be awarded to the open category and confined Great Britain entrants.
