We are delighted to announce Target Sprint is to be part of the NRA Schools’ Meeting. The event will take place on Wednesday 18th July. Being the first time Target Sprint has been included in the programme, it will be open to schools already taking part in this year’s Schools’ Meeting.
In conjunction with the National Rifle Association of the UK and Council for Cadet Rifle Shooting, the event will take place from 5.30 to 8.30 pm on Century Ranges on the right hand side between 500 and 600 yards.
The event is part of the 2018 National Series, and therefore follows the rules in place for this. Athletes will be expected to complete the standard 3x 400m running loops, interspersed with standing air rifle shooting, at 49.5mm diameter knockdown targets.
Medals and certificates inviting athletes to the National Series Final in October, will be awarded to the athletes in each the National Series Categories; Youth Men, Youth Women, Junior Men and Junior Women.
There will also be overall individual prizes for the fastest female and fastest male.
A Team category will be available for schools to enter. This a mixed sex and age category, where three athletes from the same school will have their times aggregated and the school with the fastest overall time will win.
After only a few days of the event being confirmed, news has spread and the up take by schools to participate has been phenomenal.
