About Target Sprint

Welcome to the official British Shooting Target Sprint website.

Join us in enjoying the fun exciting challenge that is Target Sprint.

Target Sprint, is the internationally recognised air rifle discipline that combines running with target shooting.

British Shooting is the ISSF recognised National Federation for target shooting in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and govern the sport of Target Sprint in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This website aims to help provide information, opportunities and join a Target Sprint community in Great Britain.

Target Sprint is a heart racing, exhilarating sport for all, which combines running and target shooting, athleticism with skill and accuracy, where the first past the post wins. It’s simple, its fast and its fun!

WHAT? The course is short, usually 3x 400m, of which each running session is interspersed by shooting at knockdown targets. However, races can be adapted to cater for different audiences in many ways. For example, through altering the run distance, target size and/or the inclusion of relays.

ISSF – International Shooting Sports Federation

In 2013 the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) introduced the discipline of Target Sprint in a move to make target shooting more accessible to all. British Shooting as the ISSF’s recognised National Federation for target shooting in United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, are leading the development of the ISSF sanctioned event Target Sprint domestically. We are working with others to support grassroots activity, deliver competitive opportunities and develop a talent pathway that leads right the way through to international selection for Great Britain. We welcome you to join our journey.

            British Shooting

Since 2016 British Shooting delivered a domestic National Series of events, which culminate in a National Final. And 2017 saw the first GB Target Sprint Team compete at the first Target Sprint World Championships. For more information visit our EVENTS SECTION.
